Hubby and I finally figured out how to decorate the outside of the house. I was picturing lots of pretty lights hanging from the roof on both levels, but when hubby pointed out that there isn't gutters or wood on every spot around, we had to improvise. I decided that as long as the front looked festive, we didn't actually have to HANG anything, so look what Momma and I found on sale at K-Mart for $15 each!
They're 7 feet tall and I think they fit like they were meant to be. Just festive enough and hubby was happy that there were no ladders involved :) Along with my home-made wreath, I think my front yard looks pretty nice! Except for the ugly bushes that I'm currently trying to get our association to fix. If they can't find pretty plants, I'm going to pull them out and plant my own, and I won't hear one word from them!
Now, when I see a big bag of lemons, many yummy, yummy things come to mind. Lemon bread, lemon merengue pie, lemon cooler cookies... my favorite, tho, is lemon bars, so when I found a recipe for one you make in a pie pan and serve in triangles, I had to try it...
I'll post a pic of the yummy dessert later and if the recipe's good, I'll share it!

Oh, those trees look perfect there. Is the lemon pie for dessert tomorrow! Say yes!
These are amazing, they look great! Had to laugh re the no ladders involved, my hubby would be sooo happy if he didn't have to climb the ladder each year as well!! Lemons are delicious, we love lemon sponge cake sandwiched with cream and lemon icing on top!
The trees fit perfectly in those arch ways.
Wow what bargains you got at Kmart. They look fabulous.

Those trees are so cute! I'm surprised they were only $15! I'm trying to get my husband to put up outside, but it's actually been too cold and windy to go out and do it!
I like your pretty decorations out front!
Amy
Thanks for your comment in my blog. Your pie looks yummy, specially for someone that doesn't know to make it (me)
